If you could eat any one food for the rest of your life and die happy, that food might just be nutella. You’ll never believe how easy it is to recreate this creamy chocolate spread in all of its hazelnut glory with just a few key ingredients. It’s a scrumptious snack you can whip up in no time, and it pairs well with just about everything. Spread it on your toast, use it as a dip for your fruit, or blend it into your favorite dishes. It’s like a little homemade jar of love!
2/3 cup of hazelnuts
1⁄4 teaspoon of salt
1 cup cacao powder mixed with 1 scoop of organic prebiotic powder
1⁄2 cup of coconut oil
4 tablespoons of maple syrup
Soak your hazelnuts in water overnight. The next day, drain and rinse well.
Place the hazelnuts in a food processor and blend until fine. Add salt and pulse to combine. Alternate adding small portions of first the cacao powder/prebiotic powder mix, followed by the coconut oil, blending to combine after you’ve added each one. Repeat this process until you’ve added all of the cacao/prebiotic powder and coconut oil and all is blended. Add maple syrup in a thin stream to form a paste. If mixture gets too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of warm water while you pulse in the food processor. Place in an airtight container and store for up to a week.
